Behind Her Eyes follows three individuals whose lives intersect in a twisted way: Louise, a single mum and secretary, Adele, a beautiful, fragile housewife, and her husband David, a psychiatrist who just happens to be Louise’s boss… and her drunken hookup. This sounds like a typical story, but trust me, you have no idea what’s in store. I devoured this novel, NEEDING to know what was going to happen and wanting to learn more about each of these characters. They each had their own secrets and strengths, and I was immensely invested in each of their lives.
The only issue I had with this novel was what made the ending so shocking and fascinating. How it fit into the rest of the story didn’t feel natural, and didn’t sit well with the overall theme of the plot. Other than that, Behind Her Eyes is a fascinating book that will send shivers down your spine and leave you on tenterhooks.
