Bird Box by Josh Malerman | Book Review

Once I started reading Bird Box, I couldn’t put this thrilling novel down. The story revolves around a world where if you look outside, you could go crazy and/or die. Malorie is a single, pregnant woman who finds herself in need of shelter after tragedy strikes close to home. The shelter she finds isn’t as safe as she thought, though…

The tension slowly but effectively ratchets up, and I was engrossed by the horrific world the novel portrayed. The writing is fast yet engaging, and I HAD to know what was going to happen. I do wish the characters had had more depth, though, and that the book had been slightly more suspenseful and scary. Still, if you’re looking for a solid thriller to devour, Bird Box is worth your time.

VERDICT: 4/5
