Fully Functioning Human (Almost): Living in an Online/Offline World by Melanie Murphy | Book Review

Let me just say, I’m a big fan of Melanie’s YouTube channel and her delightful personality, and was eager to get my hands on her memoir/advice guide. I wasn’t disappointed. It felt like I was talking with one of my best girlfriends while reading this book, and I found the tips to be extremely helpful (even at 25 years old). I also loved the fact that Melanie wasn’t afraid to talk about her past and even the struggles she faces today, and covers topics such as her sexuality, her past experiences with eating disorders, and her views on beauty. It just made me love her even more. This gem of a book also gave me added motivation to keep working on my channel/website/acting career, and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relatable novel that also manages to inspire. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, and Melanie’s writing style is compelling yet also unique. A must-read, even if you’ve never seen one of her videos (which I highly suggest you do ASAP).

VERDICT: 4.5/5
