Let’s just get this out of the way: this is not a good film. It’s full of horror cliches, and it’s your typical slasher flick. The story centers on a group of friends (including Heather Morris, Perez Hilton, and Jake Busey) meeting up at one of their homes for a reunion. Each were voted “Most Likely to..” for some superlative in their yearbook, and as the reunion goes along, they start being picked off one by one.
The acting is decent at best, cheesy at worst. Heather Morris was the best out of the group, and Jake Busey was entertaining (he’s always entertaining. You can’t go wrong with Jake Busey, people). Everyone else, I gave absolutely no fucks if they survived or not. The story is predictable, and I knew how the film would end way before it actually ended.
The cinematography was, again, decent. Nothing special, but it wasn’t terrible. There were actually a few cool shots, and the lighting was very well done.
The kills are the best part of the film. They’re gory and make you cringe in the best way possible. I’m a sick person, but whenever someone was offed, there was a huge sense of satisfaction.
I wouldn’t recommend Most Likely to Die to anyone, unless you’re new to horror and want to dip your toes into the water. The kills are awesome, the lighting of the film is great, and Heather Morris and Jake Busey are fun. The rest of the film just didn’t hit the mark.
