From Coraline To Kubo: A Magical LAIKA Experience Opening Night Recap

From Coraline to Kubo: A Magical LAIKA Experience is an interactive event taking place at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Globe Theatre that celebrates the amazing films and artistry of LAIKA (Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, and Kubo and the Two Strings). There are displays of original sets, props, and puppets, and if you’re a fan of LAIKA or are a lover of film (and are in the LA area) you should totally check it out! The event runs until August 14, 2016 and admission is included with the purchase of a general admission ticket to the theme park.

If you’re like me and are unable to attend this amazing event however (I’m totally not sobbing in a corner), here’s what happened on opening night!

The event was attended by celebrities such as Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory), Steve Blum (The Boxtrolls), Alex Borstein (ParaNorman), Tasha Smith (Empire), and many more. Also in attendance were LAIKA President & CEO/director of Kubo and the Two Strings Travis Knight, LAIKA Head of Production/ producer of Kubo and the Two Strings Arianne Sutner, LAIKA Head of Animation Brad Schiff, and many other crew members who make LAIKA’s projects absolutely magical.

Here are some wickedly cool photos from the event!

You can also check out the arrivals of the guests, interviews, and other cool content in this video!

It looks like an incredible event and I’m so sad that I’m unable to attend! If you’re lucky enough to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event, have fun for me!

Make sure to watch Kubo and the Two Strings when it arrives in theaters on August 19, 2016! Also, you can stay up to date with the film on TwitterFacebook, Instagram, and the official site!
