HBO Confirms Game of Thrones’ Eighth Season Will Be Its Last

Say it ain’t so!! HBO’s epic fantasy phenomenon will end its saga after eight bloody, glorious seasons. It’s also been confirmed that Season 7 will consist of seven episodes, while the eighth season may only have six episodes.

On one hand, I’m glad that the show is ending in the way that the showrunners and George R.R.Martin want it to. They’ll have the freedom to tell the story the way they envision it without having to add unnecessary padding, and can ensure that it is absolutely epic.

On the other hand, though, I’m going to miss Westeros. I’ve become addicted to the world of war, savagery, sex, and family (sometimes all combined). I’ve fallen in love with these characters, and I love the lore and mythology.

Let us all mourn (and cheer) the news that this amazing series is getting the run it deserves.
